I have been putting together some pages at rootsweb concerning our local history. If anyone has anything to add or suggestions let me know. freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wyomingillinois/My pages are not yet appearing in search engines but rrotsweb is going to index them with the engines for me so it is a matter of time. Right now I am encouraging folks to send this along to their friends.

Ask big Connie in Toulon at Jerry Stapel's restaurant. She loves to keep the old farce about Abe Lincoln getting his dental work done in Toulon alive. Every time she tells it, it gets better. Now the story is that some of his teeth are actually still lying on the table in Doc Hall's old office. Haw! ;D

Have any of you ever come across the Surname of " NICHOLAS" in any of your town history or writings? My family lived in Toulon in the 1860's and 1870's and visited there at least until the early 1900's from newspaper articles I have found. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
