Family Care Program Makes Hospital Visits Easier Driving out-of-town for medical care made less stressful
(Peoria, IL Tuesday, March 3, 2009) The Family Care Program is designed to assist patients and family members who must travel from outlying areas to Proctor for major surgical and interventional medical procedures. The program provides a motel room, and meal passes to Proctor’s cafeteria, at no charge, for a limited period of time, for the patient and his/her immediate family members if the patient lives beyond a 45 mile radius or a 1-hour drive from Proctor Hospital.
Procedures eligible for this program are: • Open Heart Surgery • Angiography • PTCAs • Atherectomies • Cardiac Stents • Emergency Trauma Transfers • Hip and Knee Replacements • Major Thoracic Surgery • Other major procedures as identified
Proctor developed the program to help reduce the many stressors patients and families experience in driving out of town to receive medical treatment. For details regarding this program or to determine if you, or your family members, are eligible for these benefits, please contact: Social Service Department at 800-331-7440 or (309) 691-1032
