The entire elementary school met in the gym today and watched together. It was pretty cute to see kindergartners cheering with their arms in the air. They may not really understand it now, but someday they'll be able to say "I remember watching that with my entire grade school" Whether you voted for him or not, it was an historic day, and we should be proud of a nation that seems to be pulling together on this day. I pray it will continue and that we all will be a part of making this country the very best it can be.

Thank you to all the teachers who let their classes watch or listen to the inauguration. My son, unfortunately, was busy doing schoolwork because his teacher couldn't get the station to come in. It makes be sad that every effort was not made so that our children could witness this very important day in history.

to unhappy guest, I'm with you. This was history in the making and it would have been better had they seen it at the time it was happening. It's not the same in reruns. I did a little checking around a most schools in the area allowed their entire student body to watch it. This man is from our state and was making history. It was a once in a lifetime moment. I made sure my high school kids were able to watch it by bringing one home for the actual event since her teacher at that time wouldn't let them watch it. It took all of a half hour. I really think the high school missed the boat on this one.

A special thank you to Mr and Mrs Pike in rural La Fayette. Thank you for taking in the kids while we got the bus unstuck! I really appreciate it. I'm sorry if getting stuck hurt your yard in anyway. Thanks again!

This is a Kudos thread, meant to give credit to those who deserve it. Sooo to get back to the topic: I'd like to give Kudos to the state, county and city workers, who have had lots of winter weather to deal with. Thank you for doing a good job of keeping our roads clean!

I would like to send Kudos to those nice ladies that took their time to push my van out of a small snowdrift on the road in front of my home,so I could get to my Doctor's appointment. To the one that slipped and fell I am truly thankful you were not hurt. To the ladies at City Hall telling Joe and George I needed some help and with their quick response to bring the plow to get it pushed back. To my loving Brother that cleared off my driveway, sidewalks and porch and who is always there for me. I am so grateful to live in a "Caring Community" with thoughtful neighbors and relatives. Let's hope Winter is about over!

Although I have to disagree with you, SV, on not liking winter and wishing it was over, you are so right about loving to live in a community like ours where people tend to look out for each other. Whether a winter or a summer storm, help is always around. I would like to give kudos along that line to the Toulon firemen and auxillary members who helped clear a fallen tree in our yard, after a bad storm, two years ago this spring, while we were visiting a daughter in Wisconsin. It would have been terrible to come home to that amount of work with no help. Thanks so much everyone.

I would like to send a big Kudos to Boy's basketball coaches, Jared Hippen, Terry Kochis, and Drew Zumbalen. This was a new position for all 3 of them and it was a learning season for everyone. We enjoyed the season and are sorry to see it coming to an end. Thank you to all three coaches for your time, and dedication to the boys and this program. Let's go get 'em next year varsity! And we wish the JV much luck as they continue in the Wethersfield tournament!
